Using Norton with Parallels on iMac

I am trying to install Norton Security on my iMac.  I have installed it successfully on the MacOS side but when I try to install it on the Windows 10 under Parallels, I get a message that another version is installed and it won't install the new version to Windows.  Works fine on MacOS side but there is nothing on the Windows side.  Do I need it on both sides or is the Mac side OK.

Re: Using Norton with Parallels on iMac

Hello govdoc,. Reading this KB article from Parallels knowledge base the entire article is a bit confusing to say the least. I would boot Windows and install a compatible version of Norton there, update it then reboot back into MAC and open Parallels to check for conflicts. It seems to me that the A/V on the MAC side would provide protection as Windows is emulated and not actually "booted". Therefore is functioning as a regular VM.

Cheers
