VeraCrypt gets Disable Auto-Protect greyed out
I have VeraCrypt containers (750 MB) in my OneDrive folder. As soon as my (portable) VeraCrypt mounts these I'm no longer able to suspend Auto-Protect. The option is greyed out. The Antivirus options screen shows this is due to 'pending protection analysis' and tells me to restart to resolve the issue. But doing so gives nothing.
Where VeraCrypt is't seen as a threat to begin with excluding it from detections or disabling fast startup also don't help.
The only way to get rid of the issue reinstall without keeping preferences. After that everything works fine until using VeraCrypt blocks suspend again.
Does anyone have a clue to a solution?

Edit: the containers are backups of folders with pictures and administration. I must say it didn't cross my mind to scan them; they are exact copies of those on my notebook and NS has always been OK with them.
