Versions of NIS2009

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if Symentec will automatically update it's version of NIS2009.  Previous version of NIS2008 users had to visit this forum to realise that there is a new version available.

Currently I am using version 16.0.0.125.  Don't know if it will update automatically.

Hopefully, 2009 will update itself.

Thank you

Re: Versions of NIS2009

The best way to upgrade is t first uninstall v2008 --> reboot than install v2009

Re: Versions of NIS2009

Yes, I am using NIS 2009 now, and it is the coolest Norton I have ever used.

The thing is that users of NIS2008 were not informed that there is a latest version 15.6 (I think that was the version). NIS2008 had to visit the forum in order to find that there is a update from 15.10 to 15.6 (pls forgive me if the versions are wrong...I can't remember them).

I am not too sure in NIS2009 users will be able to update via LiveUpdates, without visiting this site.

Chow.

Re: Versions of NIS2009

Hi Sea_Monster,

Current NIS and NAV users who are entitled to a free upgrade will be informed about the availability of the new 2009 version soon through their NIS or NAV product.  Then they'll have the choice to manually upgrade to the 2009 version - upgrading to a new version isn't available through LiveUpdate.

Regards,

Lisa
