Video supervision not working

I upgraded to Norton Family Premier specifically for the Web Supervision feature. I have turned Web Supervision on. I have made sure that Parental Control is turned off. My son watches youtube a lot and this is shown in Web Activity, but under Video it always says No activity. I have sent two requests to Norton Technical Support but have not had a response. Does this feature actually work for anyone? As I said, it is the only reason I upgraded, so if it doesn't work I want a refund.

My son is running IE 9 on a Windows 7 Hewlett Packard computer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi PDCD,

Please check the browser, IE that your child uses to see if the Norton Family is enabled on the machine.  You can find it by clicking Tools -> Manage Add-ons in IE.

Thanks very much for your response. Yes, Norton Family is Enabled in the toolbar, but it is still saying no Video Activity, even though I played some videos to check if it was working. Any further suggestions greatly appreciated, as I am very frustrated with the program.

Hi PDCD,

1.  After you visit youtube.com, you don't see any logs under Activity -> Video, but do you see any youtube.com logs at Activity

->Web?

2.  Have you tried other browsers, like Firefox to see if it makes any difference?

Yes, as I said in my first post there is a lot of YouTube activity in the Web Activity tab.

No, I have no intention of using a different browser. I do not want to alert my son to the fact that I am monitoring his Internet use. Also, when I purchased the Premier Upgrade there was no warning that it would not work on IE. I assumed that it would work on IE, as this is the browser that pretty much all PC users use.

PDCD,

The program supports video monitoring using IE for Premier users.  The reason I asked other browsers was trying to narrow down to see if IE was installed successfully and if it could be the reason.

I will check with the QA team on the issue

Hi Katie,

My apologies, I misunderstood why you were suggesting to try another browser. I installed Chrome on the PC and Video monitoring worked. So I then reinstalled IE and at this stage it appears to be showing Video Activity. So hopefully this is the problem solved. I will check again after my son uses the computer today.
