Virus detection in chrome

So this is a bit confusing but I’ll try my hardest to explain it. So i uploaded a file to google drive (it was a shortcut file to chrome) Anyway i uploaded it and got the file download link then clicked download. Which is my file through google Drives. When i downloaded it chrome said,”this file may be harmful to your device.” But i said to my self,”Eh it’s my file that i uploaded and i know it’s clean so I’ll just download it.” Then after i downloaded it i tried opening it. Windows security came up and said this file may harm your device. But the pop up was like the old windows 7 pop up. I clicked what’s the risk and it opened the old enternet explorer which seemed sketch and had some security check box thing. I just immediately closed out of it. After that i deleted it and did a Norton quick scan. It was clean. I’m now doing a quick scan and will update this comment when it’s finished. Just to clarify the file did not have any harmful software in the first place. Thank you!

Um, what did you use to get the file download link?   Get shareable link or Direct Link Creator.

I clicked get shareable link and pasted it into the search bar.
