Virus not being found?

I ran a full system scan. It detected no viruses, but I'm am pretty positive there is one. I think this because whenever I go onto google on any web browser (ive tried them all except Opera) and i click a link, it directs me to a different webpage that is completely random. It is normally shopping websites. I then back out and click the link again and it takes me to the link i originally clicked, it works second click usually, sometimes it takes 3 clicks. Anyways, i was wondering why my Norton security did not detect this, and why it still hasnt.

Re: Virus not being found?

I would suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

No one security software can detect 100% of all malware 100% of the time.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Virus not being found?

This is malware which Norton not necessarily discovers, so called PUP (Possibly Unwanted Program). Further info : see Google.

Look which toolbars you have installed and uninstall them.

Then run indeed Malwarebytes'  Ful scan and afterwards Adwcleaner (for some more difficult to delete PUP's)

See if it's gone now. You may have to adjust your default search engine afterwards.
