Be aware that with the VPN active, you are using the VPN provider's DNS settings. You have no way to override those.

I ALREADY have vpn with my Norton 360 so why do I need separate subscription for vpn.
You do not need a separate subscription. If you have recently, within 60 days, paid for the standalone Norton Secure VPN, you can request a refund of that subscription. To request a refund see this Norton Support page. https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/autorenew?inid=communit...
Be sure you log into your Norton Account and disable automatic renewal for the standalone VPN app.

There is no conflict. With the VPN active, your local DNS settings are no longer being used. The connection to the VPN just uses the DNS settings of the VPN server you are connected to.
