VPN Kill Switch permanently kills Microsoft Edge

Somehow when turning on VPN Kill Switch, it permanently enable the feature on Microsoft Edge, making it impossible to turn it off even after complete removal and reinstallation of Norton. Once it occurred, manually turning off VPN will make Edge disconnect from the internet regardless the state of VPN. Internet is restored once VPN is re-enabled.
Google Chrome is unaffected and can continue to access the internet regardless of state.
