vprosvc.exe problem

Within the past few days, my PC CPU has been at 100% in the morning... and when I look at my Task Manager, it seems that vprosvc.exe is using 100% of the CPU... and it is my assumption that sometime during the night, when Ghost runs, somehow this process gets "stuck"... anyone have a recommendation?  Can I (or should I) remove vprosvc.exe from the Program folder?  Not sure what exactly it does, but it is a pain right now...  many thanks

Re: vprosvc.exe problem

VProSvc is the service that Ghost uses in order to perform a backup/restore/etc.  If you are seeing heavy usage all the time, I would look to your triggers.  What have you configured your backup jobs to be triggered on?  That can very easily lead to a high number of backup operations occuring if the triggers are too sensitive based on your computer usage.

Erik- Thanks lots for the reply.  I have not changed any "triggers", it just started doing this... what are the typical trigger settings I should use... this is only a simple PC in the kitchen that my wife uses for email, shopping, recipes, etc. so nothing real serious in scale.

Re: vprosvc.exe problem

For simple use, I would just ensure that you have a schedule set up via incemental backups.  If there isn't high risk of system failure, weekly should be fine and will cut down on activity.  Possible triggers are as follows:

Schedule (daily, weekly, etc)

Any time a program is installed

When a set percentage of the system has changed

This will be under the "when to backup" portion of the backup job's settings.
