Want to access Norton "As Administrator" when working with a normal user account

Usually I work with a normal user account. It’s very annoying that working in a normal user environment there is no possibility to access Norton “As administrator”. This is especially the case when you have to accept programs for the firewall and want to set the acceptance permanently (for which Administrator rights are needed). Can this be implemented? (Or is it already there and can I not find it?).

Nope - it's not there and was taken away with one of the recent updates.

I believe @peterweb has a method he uses.

Sorry. There is no workaround. All I do is switch users in Win 10. I switch to the admin account, do what I need, then switch back.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Yes, that's the way I do it too. To my opinion that's an unnecessary devious procedure. Why did Norton remove the possibility to access Norton directly via "As Administrator" from the normal user environment?

Re: Want to access Norton "As Administrator" when working with a normal user account

The reason for the change was noted as a security feature. If a standard Windows user is able to change settings and disable Norton features, then a malware writer might be able to be able to disable Norton and cause problems on your system while a user is logged into a standard account.

Requiring the admin account for changes, gives an extra layer of protection, as long as the user uses the suggested process of using standard accounts for everyday computing.

FWIW I also wish there was still some other way to get around this obstacle to the settings while maintaining security.
