Wants to scan at every start

I power off my laptop every night and the next evening when I power it up, My Norton wants to run a Smart Scan.  It says something about recommending a scan after a restart.  Telling it not to remind me again only brings up the My Norton window.  How do I stop this daily annoyance?  Can I set it to do a Smart Scan one a week?  Thanks.

i could be wrong here but it may be in the schedualed task checks those are unticked and set to manual

One thing you can check on your system is to ensure that the Windows Fast Startup feature is turned off. With it turned on, your system is not getting a complete system shutdown required to fully reset your Norton product for the next restart. This could be why you are getting the constant scans on restart. 

If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.

Thank you 9wood.  I did indeed find that the scheduled task was set to automatic and changed it.  Appreciate the help.
