"Welcome to the Norton Upgrade Centre" (Australia)

http://au.norton.com/upgrade-center?inid=au_module1_upgrade_to_center

All the products and upgrade options on the Symantec Australian website are still referring to NAV/NIS/N360 (as on above site).

I was trialling the new Norton Security, and within the software there was a place to "upgrade to Norton Security with backup", and because I am in New Zealand, when I clicked that upgrade link it took me to to the Australian site, rather than the U.S. one.

Any idea when customers in this part of the world can expect it to be available online? Or at retail stores?

You can buy it online (like I did) from the US site here: http://us.norton.com/norton-security-with-backup

Use you creditcard and pay easy..

Norton Security and Security with Backup are a totally new product, so they will not show up in the Update Center.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: "Welcome to the Norton Upgrade Centre" (Australia)

Why is the Aussie site still selling NAV,NIS and N360 anyway???

But imagine a user trialling Norton Security like I was, thinking it is great and wants to buy it. They see the link/button to "UPGRADE" to Norton Security WITH BACKUP, and decides they want to buy that version, so continues to the Australian website and proceeds to buy, not noticing that they are buying Norton 360.

They offer a 60 day refund policy so it that case you could contact Customer Support.  www.norton.com/chat

Re: "Welcome to the Norton Upgrade Centre" (Australia)

Ditto here in Cyprus, although the 'legacy' items are virtually sold out. Was reliably informed that my store I use, will have the boxed versions some time middle of October. Would think the USA and countries closer to it would get them a bit sooner.....watch this space.

Well, It's November 12th and still no Norton Security on au.norton.com. Still watching this space.

Same case in India too. Still selling legacy products even after about 50 days of initial release.

Ditto Cyprus  Again, only showing legacy products, NIS sold out and 360 still available. I shall go have a look at their store soon just in case their web site isn't updated.

Norton Security 2015 is still not yet available in Asia-Pacific region and we have not seen any announcement from Symantec for the delay. Is Asia-Pacific a abandoned region?

Re: "Welcome to the Norton Upgrade Centre" (Australia)

Here is a list of locations where NS is not yet available.

PS: This document has been issued in October 28/2014, so in some of the locations listed, Norton Security may now be available.

Re: "Welcome to the Norton Upgrade Centre" (Australia)

Thanks for the link you posted Sandro, I did have a month's grace when NS first launched but as it didn't show here in Cyprus I had to renew my NIS for another year. In many ways I'm glad because of the couple of issues highlighted in these forums with that product, as yet still waiting on a fix!

What surprises me though is how long it's taking for boxed products to reach the shelves outside the USA, even the Symantec stores we go to on line direct you only to the legacy products? Normally we get these almost straight away each year, I suppose they would say they are completely new products, I don't know. You don't think they (Symantec) are holding off till the 'Big Fix' before shipping do you?

Re: "Welcome to the Norton Upgrade Centre" (Australia)

I do not know, brummie.

It may be so, or maybe not. I am an user like you and so many others, I can only share the information that I am aware...
As you said, NS is a new product. There are still things that need to be fixed, both for the product as for its overseas distribution of boxed products.
IMO, what really matters is that as long as NS will not be available in some locations, the latter can still avail to use NIS/N360 and NAV.

Re: "Welcome to the Norton Upgrade Centre" (Australia)

I went to the shop where I would normally buy my Symantec products from  here in Cyprus and all they had were a few boxed versions of 'N 360'! When I enquired about NS, he tried telling me this was the latest version. I explained that it was a legacy product and that there are two new products out in it's place etc, he hadn't a clue what I was on about so I left it at that. I shall probably end up getting it when I next visit the UK in summer, that is if the fix for the issues at present aren't sorted first........
