What does activating Device administrator really do?

Anti theft functions require device administrator setup. Trying to find what this permission actually allows and any pros cons. I just want to make sure my user won't accidentally wipe or lock her tablet. Thank you

Re: What does activating Device administrator really do?

If you go to Android Settings - Security and check the Device Administrators page, when you tap on Norton Mobile Security it will show you what Norton is allowed to do.

If you do not allow the Device Admin feature, the Anti Theft features will be crippled.

The Wipe and Lock features of Norton Mobile Security can only be invoked from your Norton Account. So as long as the user does not have your email and password for your Norton Account, you have nothing to worry about.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
