Where are Chkdsk Results for Ext HDD?

GHOST 14 is not behaving correctly.  Won't do "incremental" saves.  Gets to the very end, then "fails."  Error message says Ext HDD (F:  --  80GB) is about to fail.

And, when I did a complete "wipe" and new recovery point, it gets to the end and just sits there.  No " green check - success," etc.  Yet, when I x-out of that, GHOST shows "green."  But, still won't do "incremental" saves.

I've had this problem before on the F: error and set the GHOST option to "ignore bad sectors."  That worked and got rid of the error.  Incremental ran OK.  Now it won't.

On this past problem, I ran a chkdsk on F: and somehow got results (which I printed) -- don't remember how -- but it showed 8KB in bad sectors, the same as my C: drive has shown since new.

Tried running chkdsk just now on F, from the Cmd Console (chkdsk F:/r), and it ran (about 1-hour), but when I looked for results, later... nothing. The whole dialog box had disappeared.

This isn't like chkdsk on C: where the results are in the Event Viewer winlogon file.

So... long way around.. where are the  chkdsk results??

Did you open a command prompt or run the command from the run box? Open  command prompt and run the command. It shouldn't close on it's own.

Yes, now I remember.  Did from cmd prompt last time.  This time was from Run.

Tried in cmd, just now, and it asks for F-dismount (b/c F in use by GHOST, I guess).  I said yes... it says OK... but then it gives me a response like a check on the C-drive.  Says F is in use and would I like to sched the check for next Win start?  [Didn't ask for that last time I ran F-check from cmd.]

Guess I'll try it and see if it shows up in winlogon?

OK, it ran, and I was able to get a p.o.

Says 8kb in bad sectors -- same as several years ago.  And same as when it was new.

That's BS, about the drive failing.  GHOST is getting fooled.

Have posted elsewhere in these GHOST and NIS Forums, on several past occasions, about how I think there's a rootkit on my system.  Suspect whoever controls that is up to dirty tricks again -- b/c I posted some things on Facebook they don't agree with.  Long history of this happening.  Lenghty past attempts to find and remove this rootkit -- to no avail.  "Government-level" sophistication, I think.

But... at least I got my chkdsk. <g>

Eliminate Windows. Boot the Ghost SRD and run chkdisk from it. You can either open a command prompt or there is a GUI version under the Analyze Tab.

Tks red...  but I got what I needed.  May try your suggestion if I'm ever in a no-Windows environment.
