Where is my thread?

Ok. So I started a thread and saved it.  Now it's gone.  WTF?  There was a thread number and then there wasn't.  Just like this one. If I know the number, how can I search for it's Where's the search bar?

In case you lose any threads in the Forum, please click on your username under your Avatar. That will bring you to your profile page. On that page, you will see a tab labeled Activity. On the Activity page, you will find all of your posts and threads with links you can click on which will bring you to your thread. There is a short description for each one.
