Where settings, including Minimize and Maximize?

Both for presence in Firefox and in Internet Explorer (but currently more likely for Firefox), WHERE are the settings for the toolbar, and WHERE is the setting to minimize or maximize the Norton Toolbar?

At least in Firefox, the "Norton" button shows, and when we click it to open, we find no item for minimizing or maximizing the toolbar.  We can choose the "settings" item, and then we still find no method (or I have not find it) for controlling the toolbar nor maximizing nor minimizing it.  Either I am missing something, or this is another fault in Norton Toolbar for NIS 20 (version 20.2.0.19).

Notebook with Windows XP servpck 3, Firefox v16.0.2, I.E. 8.

There are three different variants of the Norton  toolbar browser BHO included with the full feature security products - there are also  three different stand-alone "free" ID Safe toolbars - each variant intended for each of the three different supported browsers, namely IE, FF, and Chrome.  The only variant which used to have a minimize option was the IE variant, and then only for Norton 2012 product versions and earlier.  Starting with 2013 (and presumably beyond) the IE variant's minimize option has been removed.

There is currently a "bug" being tracked related to the Norton menu not showing in (at least) some of the toolbar variants.  At one point it was thought that this was due to having the IE Norton toolbar set to a minimized state prior to upgrading to the 2013 version.  However, there have now been several postings to the contrary, saying that the toolbar was not in a minimized state before upgrading, yet the toolbar(s) are still not showing the Norton menu.

At present (meaning the 2013 toolbar variants) the only customization option is whether or not to display the Safe Search box.

Kind Regards,

John

Re: Where settings, including Minimize and Maximize?

Hi g_cafe_c

Not sure if this is any help and you may already know how to do this, if not by using

the mouse and cursor if you hover over the area above the URL address bar in FF and

right click the mouse you have the option in the menu window which appears to untick

Norton Toolbar and stop displaying the Norton Toolbar when using the FF 16.0.2

internet browser. And use the same steps and tick the Norton Toolbar menu item to

make it visible again. :-)

I hope that info is helpfull.

Cheers.

Re: Where settings, including Minimize and Maximize?

smithy,

That's a different objective.  I want to keep the toolbar enabled but be able to minimize or maximize according to my choice, but as just reported, this capability has been removed (the post before yours).  Turning off or turning on the toolbar is a different objective than minimizing or maximizing the toolbar.  The bigger defect is the missing "Norton" button in the toolbar in Internet Explorer.
