Why Can't Norton Just Make a Clear Public Statement to Dispel All the Bad Vibes ?

From what I have read it appears that if you have an existing Norton License, if you buy NS, the time remaining on your current license will be added to your NS license which is nearly the same as a free upgrade except you have to buy your next year's subscription in advance. That's not a bad deal.

Why all the mystery and secrecy Norton??? Just say it. Make it clear (some customer service  reps are apparently not aware of this.)

Why generate all these negative customer feelings when a simple, clear, official statement would work wonders for Norton's public image with it's customer base ?

(Unless I am wrong about this.)

Nope.. you're right.. I said the same thing to Tony Weiss.. it looks like they're waiting for it to blow over or something...

Too many threads with the same queries and not enough Tony's to answer every message quickly.

How many times have you said the same thing to Tony <g> and he has replied and so has a staffer at Norton Netherlands which is not a 24/7 operation.

... one mo' time .... (Fats Waller, April in Paris) let's let it settle down and not keep asking the same question again and again in different threads.

@ Hugh, May be people could not digest what Norton is telling by their new policies and bad testing. . . . Dont you feel it as an attempt to sellout the current version v22 forcefully? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In the beta board, Gayathri has mentioned about : " We will be reviewing all feedback received, and will notify you shortly if you qualify for any special offerings ". Any tip about the special offerings?

It was mentioned that beta testers would be offered a 45% discount for NS / NSwB once released, if my memory is right.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

I've dealt with that previously. If information I received some time back from a retail store tech employee when I was trying to buy a copy of the previous year version is correct -- retail stock is on consignment from the manufacturer and is only paid for when sold so it's pulled off the shelves and returned as soon as the new version arrives .....

And with the flack and mix-ups about going from V21 to V22 there's no way Norton would have wanted to have more v21 users who had just bought it ...... They may be crazy but they aren't insane <g>
