Sometimes one is better off not seeking the answer to questions ......

Is he sensible and disciplined realizing that the purpose here is to help people to solve problems and not to engage in chat! <s>

Hopefully he would be able to avoid conversing in that strange language known as Texting?

Hello tanmx,

Signing up for an account would constitute "using the site" which is against policy for minors (those under 18).

So, in short - the answer is No, but we hope to see your cousin on his 18th birthday!

you said help people solve problem...those under 18 MIGHT NEED to ask question..you know children...they are small..they dont know what to do and what Not to do.they might get infected with viruses easily cause they do not have much knowledge about this...so why cant they sign up ? we were once young..u too.....u must have questions when ur young right ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and to tim...

well thats really sad =( he cant ask questions then =(...why under 18 cant join the forums ? i bet'cha that there will be people who signed up are under 18...maybe only 12....lol..

if it says....under 13 cant join..still acceptable...but under 18...thats..too -.-...those above 13 should already know what they are doing...why cant they join ? they might have a question they need to ask...

but anyway...i know lots of people wont even read the policy.lol....and funny my cousin read it ! lots of these things are SOOOO LOOOOOONG.....when you read finish it, 3 - 4 hrs is gone..maybe not so long...but...ya..who would want to read ? lol

so...symantec should reconsider it....the more the merrier right ? or does symantec want the lesser the merrier...if thats the case...just delete away the <register> thing from now on...

i mean no offence here...but ..ya...really wish that more people can join...VERY FEW forum has this kind of thing....well maybe not few...but very little...

Thanks Allen K for telling you what COPPA stands for .....

Messages here are shown threaded if you care to choose that option in your Profile or in the Board Options rather than the Linear, or what I call the Blog view.

Not trying to double post but my earlier post the tittle is not quite obvious..

Read through the things needed before joining the forums...

It states

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It states that ' Minors (i.e., individuals under the age of eighteen (18) years) are not eligible to use the Site '

Why not ? What if they have some questions to ask ? they cant do that ?

Why not change it to : Those under the age of thirteen (13) years ) are not eligible to use the site.

18 years is far too old...in the sense that...you should know...18 is too much !

Lastly, not trying to offend anyone but, i dont think those people who sign up for this forum are all above 18 yrs of age !

Please consider changing it, thx

Cheers

Are you under 18?

And how do they find out if you are 18? Or is it just trust?

=\
