Why do these keep reappearing when they're not part of my product?

Other posts have gone unanswered or ignored about these recently. FWIW!! Renaming the files these are using, they reappear the very next NGC update that comes along whether its a minor one or a fresh version. Neither are features of my product, nor should these be pushed into my product unless specifically downloaded by me. The end user. No one Norton, seems willing to give the answer as to why this is happening, when that answer is a straight forward one. Marketing!! If this software updater begins actually running, which I won't download nor install, then goons my devices registry rendering it not bootable, we shall then, have a huge problem Houston!! WHY, are these appearing across every product when we aren't asking for it, nor paying for these features? If that answer is other than marketing I'd love to entertain it. Otherwise this speaks for itself. Feature additions buried into an EULA isn't the answer to this issue at all. Removal should be the solution, until such time, the customer asks for it and installs it. Simple stuff!!

Re: Why do these keep reappearing when they're not part of my product?

This seems to be a common complaint by many here at the forum. Software is being pushed on the user and in some cases running automatically without the user's permission or knowledge.

I have found the Norton software updater to not be useful to me although the latest updates did improve the number of erroneous programs to update. I have chosen to run SUMO as my software updater and am very happy with those results. This new Norton one seems to be the old Avira software updater which I tried several years ago and rejected.

Re: Why do these keep reappearing when they're not part of my product?

Indeed, I've read all the posts across the forums. This has permeated into all the Norton A/V products, shouldn't be there as it presently is whether or not the features are present. The user has ownership of their machines, NOT a software company. Windows doesn't need nor require third party tools to manage things on its own. This is nothing more than bloatware marketing. And no, some of these features are NOT just found in Norton Utilities, tulH.exe and nuPerfScan.exe create the history entries so there is a master plan at hand. I DO NOT want a system I spent 5K to build become unusable because of BS running in the background I neither asked for nor installed. Makes prudent sense doesn't it?

Edited: From the Norton EULA, which still lists Symantec

Re: Why do these keep reappearing when they're not part of my product?

I think this post has about the same input as I am having. Hope Norton is listening.......I'm HOPING these features do not actually appear in my product, specifically Software Updater and Registry cleaner. The same two files mentioned in other threads of mine and others have been renamed yet again. Until the next update appears, it will then be lather, rinse and repeat again.
