Why has data execution prevention closed Norton security

I am using Windows Vista and Norton Security. I keep getting a message from Microsoft saying

"Data execution prevention has closed Norton Security"

Does this mean I have no protection against any intrusion? Has Norton been compromised on my computer?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Re: Why has data execution prevention closed Norton security

Not sure why DEP is closing Norton Security on your system, but here is some information from Symantec that you can probably adapt to your situation.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
