Why soooooooooo much??????

Well I have my first Norton wallet with money in it. So, I go to get it out (withdrawal) I have around 14.25 in it. I get a little over $4 and someone gets almost $10 WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??????????????????????

I thought is was 15%

What is wrong here?

Re: Why soooooooooo much??????

The fee you are seeing is not the Norton fee. That fee is the ethereum network fee which is governed by how many transactions are happening at that moment. If you want to see what the fee looks like over time, look at this: https://ethereumprice.org/gas/

For reference, right now the fee is 85 GWEI which is ~$6.40, no matter how much money you are moving.

Yea, when I go there to withdrawal it says a "network" fee? I that what your talking about? And it varies?

Re: Why soooooooooo much??????

that is correct, this fee does not go to Norton or CoinBase, this is the Ethereum Network fee AKA gas

it fluctuates quite often throughout the day, if you look at that link it's generally lower during the weekends lately

Re: Why soooooooooo much??????

This is why the Devs need to implement an Auto Withdraw when the gas fees are low.

Re: Why soooooooooo much??????

It's a good suggestion, but it does get a bit tricky to withdraw to "your" coinbase account without you initiating the transaction. We don't have or own your coinbase account. We may be able to indicate when Gas fees are low or indicate somehow what the current fee is before actually trying to withdraw to coinbase.

Re: Why soooooooooo much??????

Why not just store the Etherium in the Norton wallet until you have a very large amount and then transfer to coinbase? The gas fee is a fixed amount and not a percentage so it makes sense to not transfer small amounts of money.

Norton fees / Coinbase fees / Etherium gas fees

You need to minimize the fees and take advantage of the situation when gas fees are low.

It would be cool to get a notification of when they are below like 65

Re: Why soooooooooo much??????

By the way, ever since I started mining, I will go to type and NOTHING happens, then about 15 seconds later it gives me 3 or 4 letters, it's like it is buffering.

Any clues????

Re: Why soooooooooo much??????

baj1959,

What are your PC system specs?  CPU? Hard drive - SSD? Memory? Graphics card?

You might be seeing a bottleneck somewhere in your system with Nortoncrypto.exe running. You have to try to figure out where the bottleneck is occurring and then proceed from there. Likely to be in the graphics card because that is what the mining uses.

Open task manager and keep it up on your screen and watch closely to see what is spiking.
