why the time limit is disabled automatically

Hello,

I use NF to limit the PC time of my child. When the limit is reached my child just removes the wlan stick and enter some dummy data to the NF lock screen. After some seconds NF says the data can't be authenticated and the time limit is disabled, as long as teh pc is offline. Why?

Regards,

André

Re: why the time limit is disabled automatically

Hi areman,

If I understand you correctly, what you described sounds like the time feature in older versions of Norton Family.  Can you please let me know what version of Norton Family is installed on the PC.?  To find if you have the latest version, please click the Norton Family icon in the system tray and select “About Norton Family”.

Thanks

Katie

Re: why the time limit is disabled automatically

areman,

Our engineering team confirms when internet is not available, the program will allow users to extend until internet is back.  This is as per design.

This is provided as a flexible option for the parent to extend the time, in-case if there are internet connectivity issues.

Thanks

Re: why the time limit is disabled automatically

In my opinion it's a bug. Is allow my kids to play endless.

Why the authentication data are not stored on the divice to verify the data in offline mode.
