Wi-Fi Protect issue

Attempting to add wi-fi protect to my android phone. Followed instructions in e-mail BUT the app wants to charge me when there should be no charge. What am I missing?

Re: Wi-Fi Protect issue

I take it you have already paid Norton directly for the Norton Wifi Privacy, WWP app.

When you start the app, are you tapping on Start Your Trial on the main page? If so, you need to look just under that button and tap on I already paid for Wifi Privacy. That should take you to a screen to login into your Norton Account to activate the paid version.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Wi-Fi Protect issue

Thank you. Yes I paid when installing on my laptop. Trouble shooting also gave me your answer. The problem is, when tapping Start Free Trial, the only choice I get is Google play asking for $$$ and no way past that.

Re: Wi-Fi Protect issue

So you are good to go? If so, good news, and thanks for letting us know.

There is only one version of the app that you can install, whether you paid Norton or are looking to purchase from the Google Play Store.

It is unfortunate that the I have already paid link is in such small font. I'll pass this on to my contacts as a suggestion for future versions.

Re: Wi-Fi Protect issue

Though you are helpful, your suggestion did not fix my problem. Apparently I cannot use this program on my phone without an additional $30. I will just do without.

Re: Wi-Fi Protect issue

What do you see when you tap on the I have already paid link? You should see a login screen to let you log into your Norton Account.

EDIT

When you installed on the laptop, how many devices does your subscription cover?

Re: Wi-Fi Protect issue

I don't get an Already Paid link. I only get the winow asking for Payment. And Already Paid isn't listed under payment methods.

Re: Wi-Fi Protect issue

If you go to Android Settings - Apps and look for Norton Wifi Privacy. Tap on that and scroll down and tap on Clear App Data. That should reset your NWP app. Restart your device, then start the NWP app again. Now you should see the Start Trial button. DO NOT CLICK THAT. Just under that is the I have already paid link. Tap that and you should be able to log into your Norton Account.

Re: Wi-Fi Protect issue

If you are unable to see "I already paid for Wifi Privacy" link (just below Start Your Trial button), it means that link has moved out of your screen.

To fix this, please first close the application and then in your Android device go to Display Settings and change "Screen zoom and font" (this varies per device). Make zoom small and Font (small to medium). You may have to play around with the setting a bit.

Re-launch the Wifi application and now you should see "I already paid for Wifi Privacy" link.
