widevinecdm.dll

Hi,

right now Norton Internet Security told me that "widevinecdm.dll" was downloaded and is safe. I checked for this file and found that this is somehow related to Google Chrome - but I have not installed Chrome on my machine, I'm using only Firefox.

So can anybody tell me, where this file comes from and if this is safe? How can I uninstall? The antivirus scan found no malware...

Thanks a lot!

Wolfgang

Firefox 47 gets support for Google Widevine CDM (Content Decryption Module).

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.
