It sounds like there may be some network issues on your computer. As you say you have tried Safe Mode, you have already tried restarting the computer.

Try running the Windows Network Troubleshooter. Right click the network icon in the System Tray, then click on Troubleshoot Problems. Go through the troubleshooting steps to see if Windows detects any problems.

I have tried net work trouble shooter but no issues there. What is more astonishing is that even remote sessions not possible with Norton agent as their remote session program gives msg that it has encountered a problem and needs to be closed

That is why I suspected some kind of network problem.

There may be some issue with your Windows installation causing this.   Click on Start and type CMD in the search box. Right click on cmd.exe and click on Run as Administrator. Type 'sfc /scannow' without the quotes. This will check your Windows installation and try to correct any errors it finds.

Tried the sfc...scan and it verified the system and everything is ok.

Can Norton security has anything to do with this?

One more thing is i am using window 10 pro evaluation copy build 17338.rs5

That could very well be what you are seeing. Norton does not support any beta OS versions, and cannot guarantee compatibility.

Looks like you may have found an incompatibility with NWP. Norton Security has just had an update to help support the Redstone release of Win 10. Have you updated your NS to ver  22.15.0.58?   Hopefully a similar update will be forthcoming for NWP.

Re: wifi privacy giving message -no internet connection

Yes Norton security is working fine with 17338rs5...no issues with that only NWP not working Still i am confused about why remote connection can not be established when chating witj Norton agent?

Re: wifi privacy giving message -no internet connection

Maybe the version of Log me in has not been upgraded to work with Redstone.

If you contact support again, you should point our that you are on Redstone, and that they need a newer version of the Log me in tool.

Yes i will tell them about windows version i am using Although i am surprised to see that chat agents and level 2 team Norton didn't ask this information even after repeated failure of remote session with Logmein

The Redstone version is fairly new, and it probably has not made its way to the scripts used by the Support agents. And as i mentioned, beta versions of OS are not supported by Norton.

So if you do contact them again, they should be able to log the incompatibility of Log me in and the NWP with the new Windows version.

Re: wifi privacy giving message -no internet connection

Sorry. Can't help you there. I did have a remote session with Support over a year ago. But I deleted all the support files once we were finished.
