WiFi Security / Device Security/Risk Detected

Hi

A few security type messages have been displayed on my phone this morning.

1)

On a Samsung S21, Norton reports that one risk has been identified and is shown at this location within Norton App: WiFi Security / Device Security/1 Risk Detected

The massage 'Device Security - 1 Riske detected' is not a weblink taking you to where the risk is identified.

How do I fix the Risk Identified?

2)

On the report page for the above, within S21 Norton App,  there is a video link. Text is written above other text - see attached. Am I on a corrupt website?

3)

On a Google Chrome screen and 'Invalid Dynamic Link' message is displayed.

Thanks for any help

Re: WiFi Security / Device Security/Risk Detected

Answering your questions....  from this image....

  1. There is no issue being shown for Wifi Networks. Your image shows 1 Network being detected, with one Secure Network being detected and no Risky Networks detected.  The Device Security is a separate section. You need to tap on that to expand it to see what is being detected.
  2.  That page with the video is a Norton Support page. No corruption on that site. The extra text sounds more like some display issue.
  3. The dynamic link library message is an issue on the web site you are trying to view. You can send that image of the message to the web site owner to let them know what is being detected.

Re: WiFi Security / Device Security/Risk Detected

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. The issue 'Device security' cleared and then returned again. The last time it appeared, and this time, there is no where to select in the Device Security area , which expands it to see what is causing an issue

Re: WiFi Security / Device Security/Risk Detected

You should be able to just tap on Device Security to expand that section.

What device and Android version are you using?

What Norton product are you using and what version? Open the Norton app and tap on the three bars at the top left and click on Settings > About.

The latest version is 5.24.0.211204001

Re: WiFi Security / Device Security/Risk Detected

Thanks for the info.

Android version is 12 in a Samsung S21 Ultra.

It is the latest Norton version.

The location is : Your Protection Report / Device security / Risk detected = 1

The only thing that opens is the circle with the 'i' in it (information.

See attached

Re: WiFi Security / Device Security/Risk Detected

Thanks for that added information about the Your Protection Report. I knew it was there but have not had a reason to look closely at the whole report.

I see that there is no way to tap on any of the results there. If there is nothing showing on the main user interface under Device Security, what I would suggest is tapping on the three bars at the top left of the main UI and then tap on Settings > Activity Log. Scroll through there to see what you can find.

Re: WiFi Security / Device Security/Risk Detected

Thanks for the info.

I looked through the Activity Log.

I have no in-depth understanding of what is listed.

But, from what I see, all listed items appear to be standard activities - nothing stands out as an unusual event.

The screenshots attached for the Actiity Log cover the period where the the Device security has a 'Risk Detected'.

Re: WiFi Security / Device Security/Risk Detected

Tapping on the i information icon by Device Security in the protection report it notes that it detects OS vulnerabilities. From the main 360 Interface, what happens when you tap on  Security > Device Security? As you are on Android 12 and it is so new, it is possible that there are security updates getting sent through to devices that have not yet been released for your device from the manufacturer. Or that you have not installed yet. Check in Android Settings to see if there are any available OS updates to install.
