I checked Norton's website and my yearly NIS doesn't expire until March 2019. I received a Windows 10 popup, today, October 11, 2018 that my NIS expires in one day. What gives?
Hello Mark. When my Norton product did its recent version upgrade patch I got the same pop-up in Windows 10 notifications. I might also note that I got the update via a manual liveupdate session AND after installing the patch Tuesday Windows updates. A system restart cleared the issue for me. Did you get the recent Norton patch to version 188.8.131.52 ?
I contacted Norton support and they verified that when an update occurs in Norton, the application for Norton is temporarily stopped and the Windows 10 message saying NIS coverage will expire in one day, in my case, is generated. Seems this is a problem with Norton or Windows 10, or both.
Good thing I checked the expiration date for my NIS before rashly updating and spending the cash.
