Windows 7's default UAC bypassed by 8 out of 10 malware samples.

Hi everyone:

Please see the article link here.

How is NIS/NAV 2010 doing in this respect?

I'm kind of curious.

Hi

Yeah, I made a thread about this a few days ago. Didn't really get more than 1 post in it. There are tons of posters in the article that I gave the link though.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.17.3.50 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

UAC was not intended to protect users from malware. It looks like a malware detector and it smells like a malware detector...but it's really about user privileges.

Even Microsoft - in the name of Mark Russinovich -  will tell you that UAC is not about malware. Rather, it's Microsoft's way to get users not to run as admins; and software developers not to write software that needs admin privileges to work properly.

I'm no friend of the arrogant monopoly in Redmond, believe me, but this time their reaction to Sophos was appropriate.

Hi:

I agree with Bulldoggy.

However, I thought it relevant to post.
