Wrong time on "Restore Files" search screen

I'm in EST time zone, which currently is -4:00 from UTC. When viewing the list of backup sets on the "Restore Files" screen (Restore Files/View All) the correct date/time is shown. When viewing "Files from backup set" (Restore Files/Search) the correct date is show but the time is wrong; it's not adjusted for local time.

This morning my backup ran at 8:34am EST, and that shows correctly under "View All". When viewing the list of files in the the backup set (Search) it shows 4:43am. That's the time zone offset difference. So one of the developers messed up.

I wanted to report this error so I went to chat and got nowhere; first it was implied that that was a feature, then it was suggested that I use Norton Power Eraser. Then the rep wanted to take control of my machine (no way).

Does anyone know how to report a bug?

Mike

P.S. Yes, my computer's date/time settings are correct, otherwise the wrong time would show under "View All".

Re: Wrong time on "Restore Files" search screen

When I look at the list of files to restore, I see the date and time the file was last modified. Not the time it was backed up.

Are you referring to some other screen?

Hi, Peter. That's not what my screen looks like:

Interesting. Although I do have an outstanding question with Norton on just what product is on my system. The difference in our screens may be causing the difference in our displays.

I'll leave this for others to chime in.

It would be nice if there was a way to create a bug report with Norton. I found no way to do so, not even through a chat session. I think that's crazy.

Try going to your Norton product and clicking on Help - Feedback on the right side. You should be able to send the information there. Just note that you want them to contact you.

Ok, that's what I did. We'll see what happens.
