Someone else's activity?

When I was looking at my daughters activity, it showed someone else's. I don't mean someone from my home. It was someone else's entirely. When I clicked on the "All Activity" tab, it showed activity that I know for a fact she didn't do. It showed 2 different myspace accounts that had different first names but the same last name. When I clicked the tab again to refresh it, it showed my daughters activity and the myspace activity was gone. I wish I would have taken a screen shot, but I Didn't think of it.

It did it again. I took screen shots this time! The first one is NOT her activity. The second one is her activity. I am going to post them in a reply to this post because when I hit the "enter" key here it does not return to the next line.

Re: Someone else's activity?

Imagine my shock when I looged in to find this! I noticed the dates right off and knew this wasn't my daughters activity since I have only had this program for about a week.

Thanks for posting this.  We are looking into this to see what may be causing this.  Are you still seeing this behavior currently?

Re: Someone else's activity?

Yes it still does it.

When I log in, I always click on "all activity" first. Sometimes when I do that, it will tell me there is no activity for the last 7 days so I refresh it. Occasionally when I refresh, it will show activity that I know is not my daughters, so I refresh it again and it will show the correct activity.

Just trying to make my steps a little more clear so you have the most info possible.

Re: Someone else's activity?

Me too.

I was having fun this weekend (and just now) looking at other people's activity. I make it happen by quickly clicking between the tabs "Recent Activity" and "Web". About 25% of the time I'll get to see someone elses activity. Fun stuff!

This is so uncool.  What happens if you use sites that pass your username and password in the URL?  Or even your username?  Hectic invasion of privacy...

Re: Someone else's activity?

Hi Buttrfli,

Thanks very much for bringing this problem to our attention.  This weekend, we found a problem with our OnlineFamily.Norton servers that caused some customers to see incorrect activity data, including some internally-generated Symantec test data.  Thanks to help from you and customers on our forum, we were able to troubleshoot the issue very quickly, and rolled out a fix last night.

Some of our users have had questions about what measures we have in place to ensure the security of customer data.  I wanted to let customers know that we take great lengths to ensure that user data is protected, including storing personally-identifiable information in an entirely separate system from account activity, and encrypting traffic in both directions to make sure information is protected.

It was due to feedback from customers on the forum that we were able to address the issue so quickly, and I want to reiterate to customers that you should feel free to either post to the forum or send me a message directly if you have any comments about the product, or see any problems in product functionality.

Please let me know if you see any other issues-

Best,

Jody
