Bonjour, (is it relevant to replicate this in English to an international section of the forum?)

Hello, (is it relevant to replicate this in English to an international section of the forum?)

Since updating my Xperia XZ2 compact to Android 10 a few weeks ago, Norton Mobile seems to regularly analyze WiFi security if I believe the notification that appears. This happens while WiFi is not activated. It's annoying. Under the previous version of Android, this notification (and therefore I suppose the analysis) was only done when the WiFi was activated which seems normal to me.

Is this a bug or a change in behavior wanted in Android 10? Is it possible to revert to the previous behavior?

thank you,

Another user has reported the same issue.   https://community.norton.com/en/forums/secure-wifi-notifications   It appears it may be related to the change to Android 10 OS. There is no way to go back to the older version. I'll pass these two threads along to my Norton Contacts. In the mean time, please send logs to Norton to help diagnose the issue.

Open the NMS app and tap the three bars at the top left. Tap on App Settings, and scroll down to the Logging section. Turn on Enable Debug Log. Then continue using your device until your issue happens again. After the issue has happened, go back to the Debug Log setting and turn it off, then tap on Send Error Report with log files. In your submission please include "forum 'your username' " in the Case ID section of the report. Also include a link to this thread.

If you do send logs, please let me know and I'll notify my contacts to look for them.

Dear peterweb,

Thank you for your input.

peterweb:

If you do send logs, please let me know and I'll notify my contacts to look for them.

I followed your instructions but when going on Send Error Report, the NMS app eventually opens a share file dialog with several sharing channels options while I expected the app to send it directly to the support address.

Can you advise on how I should proceed? Note that I have saved the corresponding files.

Apologies if I missed something obvious but I cannot find any e-mail address for the Norton support (I see phone, chat, and this forum).

After tapping on Send Error Report, you see this

Fill you forum username in the Support Case ID  line, then give a brief description of the issue you are seeing on the next line. Then tap on the right arrow at the top right of the screen. That will bring up this....

Just tap on the email client you are using on that device. That will open your email client with the information about the issue. Just fill in any additional information and send the email.

Thank you peterweb for your patience and crystal clear explanation.

My report(s) (it seems to have attached 2 logging sessions) have been just sent (and I received an acknowledgement).

Cheers,
