Norton Crypto Active GPU Wrong

Norton Crypto does not display the correct GPU...when I first started using Crypto, I had a 2070 GPU...for other reasons I had used Norton Removal Tool to remove and reinstall Norton and in between installed a 3080 GPU...

How can it be fixed so Norton updates the GPU ?

Probably not a big problem but I think of it this way...this is all about money to me and Norton so I think the software should be correct because if this is wrong, what else could be wrong ?  Norton has had quite a while to write the code to get the bugs out and I think they should really get busy fixing this...People are investing thousands into building hardware to mine crypto and no excuse for sloppy software.

If you did a reinstall but did not remove data, it may still hold the original card name. We only check the card at boot time. Once deemed a viable card we don't check anymore. It's possible that when you switched we have not checked for an updated card.

I uninstalled the first time with control panel and removed data or it was supposed to...still came up with wrong gpu...next I used norton removal tool and it still comes up with wrong gpu. I have noticed other people's posts where they post an image of the crypto screen and one of devices and the gpus don't match.

From what you say, no offense but that don't make sense...because if it only checks once and finds an acceptable card, it seems like the card could be switched out to an unacceptable card.

the name displayed is just that a "displayed name", it would have no effect on how the miner works, it's used only to determine if you have a viable GPU card on initial boot

I know it's just a displayed name and the new 3080 works fine but I just think Norton should check and update the active gpu...or if more than one gpu, list all or just the primary gpu.

Also, want to mention...the problem mentioned here is not why I uninstalled Norton...

you are correct we should update if it changes, while something that can happen (individuals swapping out GPU cards) we hadn't considered it as a common thing and ultimately didn't test for it, we will get it resolved

I noticed today an update..Version 22.21.10.37...I have 3 PC's running all the time 2 have Intel CPU's and the one with the 3080 GPU has an AMD CPU and the one I'm having the problem with...the update came out my Intel PC's have the update and one of them is mining and working fine.

This PC with AMD GPU has Version 22.21.9.25 and crypto mining disappeared from it today...it will not update to the new version either...This is really aggravating $%^$## Lol

I like the new crypto screen...see attached pdf file...wish I could get the 3800 pc working right...

Attached is a screenshot of the new Crypto screen after I removed a 1060 card and installed a 2070 card...Norton updated and it started mining soon as it became idle.

One thing missing from the new crypto screen and that is when Norton will do the pay out...I think it's still .004000 Eth but it doesn't say that anymore...

I spoke too soon on the solution...when a Norton update to crypto was done, it did update the gpu...I just put a rtx 3080 in the pc and Norton still says it has the old gpu...gpu's do not update in the My norton/wallet web page either..processing power of the gpu installed looks OK tho...
