I am running Windows 10 Home version 21H2 (19044.1526) on Acer TC-885 PC. Following latest Norton 360 Deluxe Security patch dowloaded on 07.03.2022 Norton autofix is applied and gives 8504, 104 error. Implementing the recommended Norton solution, Using Norton NrNr.exe and then following instructions 're-install from Norton My account' Norton then works OK/updates fine but fails again in the same manner after trying to install the very latest patch??? By comparison my other machines have all updated without issue. I checked 'sfc /scannow' and DISM commands and no problems are identified. Help!!
For some reason Live chat is also down!

Thank you for your comment. Actually I hadn't tried what you have suggested though I am aware of problems of this type due to Windows Fast start up. In fact on other non related issues (from time to time...) I have temporarily disabled Fast start up in 'Power Settings' shut the PC down and re-booted which I think (had I done this) may have achieved what you are suggesting. Then once I know an issue is OK I then re-enable Fast start up and re-boot. This has certainly been effective for past issues of this type albeit in relation to Windows updates.
Shortly after posting the Norton 360 patch related bug, I managed to connect via the on-line chat to Norton Customer Support who eventually (after remotely taking control of the PC resolved the issue. They went through exactly the same procedure I used to un-install the existing Norton 360 code and re-install Norton 360 via a download from my account and on this occasion (after installation) the updates and latest patch all installed correctly. The only difference is they used a repair Utility that allowed them to remove fragments of code/conflicting register content left from older install/s which they performed remotely.
So, the problem is now thankfully resolved..... will see what happens next time Norton release another security patch....watch this space
Many thanks again for your help.
