Very Easy for kids to create a Chrome Profile and bypass Norton Family

Kids are always one step ahead and I have tried in vain to use all means to stop them but have failed so far. My kids are always on roblox and not doing any school work because of that. 

The simple workaround => 3 clicks to create a new profile on chrome does the trick and all my hours of setting up Norton controls is down the drain.

Just want to know the following:

1. Is there a way to disable the possibility of creation of a new profile in chrome ? I am not talking about simply disabling the startup screen for selecting your profile, but disabling the possibility of creating any additional profile altogheter. Is there any other browser that does not have with problem when used with Norton family.

2. Does Norton Family Parental control support blocking sites across profiles ? In other words if a new profile is created does norton family have an option to block that new profile as well. Please dont tell me "That the extension has to be enabled on all profiles" I know this. Want to know if there is a way to enable it for all profiles by default.

Thanks for your feedback.

We are aware of this problem when multiple profiles are created in Chrome needing browser extensions to be enabled on all those profiles.
For a consumer product like Norton Family, we cannot control the browser settings and extensions unlike in a corporate environment.
However, we are evaluating other possible options to reduce the dependency on browser extensions across various browsers.

Maybe this is applicable? I don't personally use Chrome nor Norton Family and am offering a possible workaround, hoping one of the other Guru's who do use Chrome can offer a bit more insight for you concerning the issues you are facing. You may also want to try using Microsoft Edge to compare settings, see which ones that are offered that may help vice continuing to use  Chrome.

Try the below steps:

  • Go to Chrome and sign in.
  • Click the Customize and control Google Chrome menu >> Settings
  • Go to people section and clear the Enable Guest browsing checkbox.
  • Remove the random profiles that already exist which you want cleared.

Note : If you are the only admin you can also clear the "Let anyone add a person to Chrome checkbox"
