settings functions in my Norton vs. classic view

Two issues:

When I open My Norton there is something that says Settings but I don't see a way to access them.  I can only access and use settings if I change it to the classic view. What am I missing? I ask because i want to schedule regular scans. I thought Norton scans by itself in the background on a regular basis. I frequently get an orange icon over my norton icon saying i need to scan. I've had Norton many years and this was not the case.

Do I need to schedule Smart Scans or a regular scan. My laptop is as clean as a whistle.

 Second, why is Norton showing me popups that tell me that my memory is over 90 percent used up?  which memory?  What is that about?

Settings from tray icon opens My Norton Settings.
Settings from Classic view opens Norton 360 Settings.

Note:

Norton Quick Scan is considered a priority item.  It runs periodically in the background when your PC is idle.  If it does not get a chance to run it will alert you after a few days that the scan needs to be run.  Try setting the Idle Time Out option in Norton Settings to 1 minute, so that background tasks can begin shortly after your computer becomes idle.  Setting this too high can cause the tasks to never have an opportunity to run, resulting in these notifications.

You are correct. Quick Scans are considered a priority item.  If they have not had an opportunity to run after a few days (3 days, I believe), a Quick Scan will run automatically.  There is no user setting to override this.  The number of new threats that arrive daily make it important to run these scans frequently to catch anything that might have been undetectable prior to the latest virus signature update.

I also got that Norton Utilities advertising pop-up recently, saying my RAM was "89% used up" when, actually, my memory use was only 33%.  This issue was reported to Norton.  I was not aware that there was a Norton History event associated with this, but just checked and see that my history shows the same memory warning.  I will pass that along.
