A FLAGRANT SALES PITCH ¦ SMART SCAN.

Ran Smart Scan. Advanced Issues flagged-up as follows:-

Why do I think it's a VPN BIG SELL. The words "maybe visible to others" are used in both summaries.
If that's not a misleading 'sell'. The answer on the 'View Solution', buy VPN, says it all.
Well, I believe I'm secure and "maybe not visible to others" is prevalent, and it's a Norton False Positive.

FWIW!! I've found that since Norton DOESN'T support IPv6 it was leaking IP AND DNS information even with the VPN enabled. Give disabling IPv6 a shot ( if your service provider doesn't require it ) and run smart scan again. Curious to know if anything changes for you.

Disabled IPv6. Ran Smart Scan. Same result as original post.

Interesting. I will run SS on my everyday lappy since its WiFi and doesn't have ethernet availability. Report back those results. Currently I'm running SS on a hard wired PC and don't see the advanced results for unsecured network.

Re: A FLAGRANT SALES PITCH ¦ SMART SCAN.

These are my findings. All my devices that are NOT connected to WiFi, do NOT see any advanced issues offering a solution after running Smart Scan. Those on N360 Deluxe and ARE on WiFi see the following but not the same results on each device. The issues from your opening post ARE indeed verified, with ethernet connections not seeing the results yet WiFi indeed do.

Advanced scan findings:

Clicking "View Solution" produced the EXACT SAME sales sell-up on each WiFi device:

Now!! ADD these additional sell-up notifications at BOOT. Where in the world does the bombarding of marketing end?

Yep ! Issues found on WIFi only, no issues on LAN connection (RJ 45): 3-machines.
So, are there issues; or is it just a 'hard-sell' ?

Personally, I cannot answer for Norton. My view is this is over selling. Off the chain notifications are also over the top. I don't need to be notified with a monthly protection report. Nor the messages in the main UI where more sell-ups are residing. On Windows 11 with N360 my WiFi connection comes some 20 + seconds after full boot, then the instant popup such as the NFT incident screenshot I posted. Making matters even worse its not just the N360 suite anymore, it has propagated into my Norton Security Ultra installs. Family are asking me constantly what the popups mean, one specifically that it interferes with their work from home tasks. Browser notices to install extensions on Edge when its not the default nor being used. At some point that is certain to be sooner than later, bleeding customers to the point a business model has gone beyond manageable will be the result. Many features simply do not work across more than one platform, I would make better use of resources making those features work as paid for vice adding more. Its simply a "blind BETA" otherwise.
