Re: samsung-sm-g920a

I downloaded directly from Play Store and Rajat (with Norton) verified that I was not charged for it and it was listed as one of the permitted devices. Rajat did a great job and also told me how to verify that the subscription on the phone was cancelled (I used a different e-mail account the first time that caused the problem). Back in the days of DOS and a 286, I had some tools from Peter Norton that were great. It is nice to know that things have not changed. The expertise is still great!

What Android version is on your device? Norton Apps require at least Android 8. If you cannot upgrade your device to this Android version, there is no Norton product available.

I had a problem installing Norton 360 (for 5 devices) on one of my devices last year. Norton support (I reluctantly gave them control of my device) did the install. Maybe call Norton support?

I have a new Samsung Galaxy S22 and was running Norton 360. I am also running Norton 360 on my home computers so I removed the Norton 360 and the license from the phone in order to run Norton 360 on the license with my home subscription.

Do you still need any help?

Re: samsung-sm-g920a

YES! I don't know know what to do since the error message says, "No eligible devices for app install." This is from using the link from my computer that was sent to my phone via text.

Re: samsung-sm-g920a

You did not answer my question about the Android version on your device. If it is still on Android 7 or lower, you cannot install Norton apps on that device. That would be why you see the message in Google Play Store.

Have you called Norton support? I was using that link, too, and it worked for all my devices except one. The Norton tech asked for permission to access my computer remotely and from there he worked his magic and installed it.

If we can get the answer to the Android version question it might make a call to Support unnecessary. If the Android version is 7 or below, there is nothing Support can do to install on that device.

OK So not the sm-g920a listed in the tread title.

When you got the new phone, did you register it with Google using the same account information from the older phone? You might have to remove the older phone from your Google Account to have the Play Store recognise the new phone. Here is some information from Google Support on managing devices.   https://support.google.com/accounts/thread/8340011/how-do-i-remove-a-dev...

"OK So not the sm-g920a listed in the tread title."

I am now completely confused. I can't find where I got the info for the thread title; however, I found the model number is SM-S901U (I got this in the 'about phone' in settings). Does that help?

Re: samsung-sm-g920a

That device should allow Norton to install.  Are you using the Google Play Store app on that phone to search for Norton 360?

If you still see the same message, maybe time to use the suggestion made by teecatin above. Contact Norton Support to see if they can help get 360 installed.    www.norton.com/contactcs   If you use the chat feature, as soon as you can enter information, type 'agent please' to get out of the chat bot and connected to a human.

Re: samsung-sm-g920a

Initially I believe celdridge11 referred to Google Play Store, but in a later post mentioned the link that Norton 360 creates at the end of the initial install on a PC. That link is used to install Norton on other devices up to the limit for your purchase. In my case it was another PC and two phones. The link worked flawlessly on the two phones, but failed on my other PC. That is what the Norton tech installed after I gave him permission to access my PC remotely.

Re: samsung-sm-g920a

I have been in contact with a real live person at Norton and the problem has been resolved. THANK YOU! for your advice and direction. I am now running Norton 360 on my computers and my phone. I believe I have added Kudos for both teecatin and peterweb. Thanks for putting up with an eighty year old man who wants to learn everything he can and do it himself.

Thanks for posting back @celdridge11 .  Could you share what support had you do to resolve your issue?
