Belarc Advisor Free v12.0.0 is now available at https://www.belarc.com/products/belarc-advisor.  The system requirements listed on that page note v12.0.0 is compatible with Windows Vista and higher (32-bit and 64-bit) as well as several Windows Server operating systems.

Me too! So quick to get all that hardware details that you often need ..... and can be got without it IF you know how, but I never do.

Ooops -- I kept on trying but could not get a version 12!  Eventually I have Belarc's Speccy and not Advisor, So I let Advisor install and that is V12 while my Bellarc Speccy is  1.32.803

If you don't know Speccy do try it. Very compact and packed with technical information down to information about hard drives you wouldn't believe!

As usual I get confused ..... I do use CCleaner too -- but very cautiously and never automatically

If you go to the Belarc Advisor Free download page at https://www.belarc.com/products/belarc-advisor/download and fill in the required information (name and email address) they will email you a new download link (something like https: // www.belarc.com / products/belarc-advisor/download-xxxxxxxxxxxx). Once you receive that download link it will direct you to a page where you can click the "Download Belarc Advisor" button to download the latest advisorinstaller.exe installer.  Just be sure to bookmark that download link (or keep the email they send you) and you can use that same download link in future to download the latest available installer that you can run to perform an "over-the-top" update without having to provide your name and email address again.

When I'm helping someone to troubleshoot a problem I sometimes ask them to publish a Speccy snapshot on the web (File | Publish Snapshot | Copy URL to Clipboard) so I can see a quick summary of their system software and hardware.  However, I use the portable build of Speccy v1.32.740 (spsetup132.zip, rel. 21-May-2018), and it hasn't been updated for a few years and doesn't always provide accurate results for newer hardware - see ZloboMir's No SSD NVM Info for one example.  There is a newer Speccy v1.32.803 (spsetup132.exe, rel. 14-Jun-2022) available at https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/builds if you want to install the full version of Speccy on your hard drive, but according to the release notes at https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/version-history this newer version only includes a minor change that improves the license delivery for Speccy Professional users.

In addition to Belarc Advisor, I often use the portable build of Martin Malik's free HWiNFO diagnostic software (Window 95 and higher, available at https://www.hwinfo.com/) and find that HWiNFO does a better job of recognizing modern CPUs and SSD drives than Speccy.

Thanks -- that's all useful. I did get the download of Belarc the way you indicate. I don't know if I saved a redownload link or not but as you may imagine I don't do much online support these days, except for me!

I'll have a  look at HWINFO.
