Can't reach a site with VPN on

I frequently get this message when clicking on a link in an email message:

Hmmm… can't reach this page

click.redditmail.com’s server IP address could not be found.

In this example I was trying to get to a reddit site but I get the same type of message when clicking or other links. When I stop Norton VPN I can get the link to work.  How do I get to link AND use VPN?

Many web sites do not allow access from known VPN IP addresses. They do this for copyright, legal, security, and political reasons.
