Excluding the folder /AppData/Local/ from my backup set

For Norton Backup, my backup set lists a huge number of files under \Users\Local\.  I do not want any file in that folder backed up. \Users\Local\ is a hidden file, and it does not appear in the directory list that is displayed after I try to exclude folders to backup.
