anybody else been gettinhg these forced scans last few weeks ( just had another)
in classic mode big red letters " your at risk scan now" blah blah
a quick scan , i guess full scans arent good enough ?
why is this happening?
i dont see anything in schedualed task or anywhere to stop this

If your machine has been off for a certain number of days, or hasn't been idle long enough for automatic scans to run you will see that message. I think it's three days.
If that isn't your case please post back so we can dig a little deeper.

i use my device daily and it doesnt sit idle , not sure why this has now started

If it doesn't sit idle, that could be why. Norton scans while the machine is idle, unless the machine hasn't been idle for an extended time.

actaully i do believe there is a setting where you can set it to do a scan 20 minutes or whatever if its sitting idle i.e not doing anything for that time it will start a scan
dont think your realizing that is not happening, this red notice i am referring to is on the main program page
not a notice in corner saying scanning or whatever
there is a difference in what you are saying and what i am asking about not the same

Set your Idle Time Out in Norton settings to 1 minute so that idle time tasks like the quick scan will start almost immediately when your PC is idle.

again this does nothing to address my question
why am i or anyone else ( dont think i am only one) being forced these quick scans?
full scan if you actually watch it scans at the start the very same files ( yes i actually watched it)
so a full scan isnt good enough?
it doesnt sit idle as mentioned prior atleast for any long period ( few minutes if that)
but yet i get a red screen "im at risk" blah blah?
makes no sense to me

A Quick Scan checks for any active malware -- that is, malware that is running or is set to run. The Full System Scan checks everything, looking for malware or remnants that may be dormant. So the Quick Scan is the most important as it is looking for threats that are actually operating on your system. That is why Norton considers Quick Scans critical and will insist that one run every few days at a minimum. If idle time is not provided for the scan to run, you will be alerted that a scan needs to be done. I think the Quick Scan will actually run automatically in non-idle time if a scan becomes seriously overdue.

again you did nothing to address the issue just babbled some nonsense
i am fully aware of a full scan vs quick scan etc.... ( and dotn believe me watch the files in a quick scan , the same files that get scanned scanned in a full scan odd)
for 22379999999 time nothing to do with my device being idle ( how many times do i need to say that????????????)

i do believe if you acyaully ask users they will say they do full scans mainly , how often will vary
forcing a user to do quick scans does what??????????????

This message can appear due to several reasons, and may not disappear even after you click Fix Now in your Norton product.

its fully updated latest build etc...
a link number 2 run full scan ( say what?>??)
reinstall , these frequent reinstalls are very annoying
i find it strange that the fix is a reinstall for some problems , but yet the problem that caused the reinstall never fixed or goes away
its obviously something that been programmed ( i.e. intentional by the updates ) that needs to be addressed

The suggestion to check for Windows Fast Startup is valid. Often the 'You are at risk' can be resolved by a full system restart that you may not get if you have Fast Startup enabled.

anyway diagnostic scan all good, auto fix all good
fast start up off ( not sure why you have this interest)
about a week or 2 ago a single product update was released ( dont recall exact date) thats 1 update not build update
seems to be when this issue i am inquiring about started

i think you are missing the point or dont understand
these forced updates ( i shouldnt be getting this weekly ) are not something i or any user should be forced to do
i.e. full scan not good enough, the same full scans that scan the same exact files as a quick scan ( do it yourself and watch the files)
im paying to be forced to do a scan???????????
unrelated but to show a point, if you are paying insurance do they force you to wash your car or bike weekly? does your home insurance force you to clean or have your carpets done weekly??????????? get the point?
why is norton with the red "danger" your at risk forcing this?

We do understand that you keep getting this message. As we cannot see your system, the only way to try to help is by making suggestions of things to try.
You noted that Fast Startup is disabled. Do you leave your system on 24/7, or do you restart every couple of days?

as stated before i am up todate as in latest build and updates etc...
as for the problem you gave the newest build info, non of which state anything about these forced scans
the forced scan which i have stated a few times i think is rather simple
the main screen ( classic mode) turns red ( might as well have flashing lights) says "im at risk" blah blah
the fix it does a quick scan
so a weekly quick scan is mandatory?
a full scan is not enough as stated i did a full scan day before last red flag demand
and by the way a quick scan , does scan the very same files as a full scan ( hint the first scan sections of a full scan)

week later another "forced scan" this is what we pay for? not enough we get nagged to buy there product subscripts or the security breah alerts taking over screens, we know must do there weekly bidding to scan when a full scan done prior isnt enough?
