How to contact Norton with a compliant

My first comment is that I have found it almost impossible to find out how to send a complaint to Norton, I am not even sure that this is going to work.

I recently accepted a trial of Norton Device Updater. Prior to running the App, I had used my external speakers without any issue. They are mainly used for online meetings which occur about every three weeks and are sometimes used when obtaining information from the internet. Last week I logged into an online meeting, and I had no Audio. This has occurred after using the Norton Device Updater.

After the meeting I went onto the Norton chat site to seek help. It Took me three sessions to eventually find a technician who could reinstall a lost audio driver. I have to say that the technicians tried very hard however in trying to escalate the problem there were problems with making contact.

The problem is now fixed, after three days, but I have cancelled the trial offer because I do not have confidence in the APP and that that somehow another driver might be deleted and cause more problems in communications with my colleagues or general enjoyment of my PC.

I have been a long-time user of Norton and I will continue to use it however I am not happy about this issue.

Re: How to contact Norton with a compliant

Plain and simple : Never use any driver update program to update your drivers except one from your PC manufacturer. Windows update does a good job also at updating drivers.

I do run several driver update programs to scan and have them inform me of what they think needs updating so I can manually update the drivers from the manufacturer's website but their results are very far from perfect. In fact their results vary so widely from one to another and it can be very confusing.

In light of my experience, I can't agree more. However, I still don't know how to write a complaint to Norton

Re: How to contact Norton with a compliant

I have posted this already on this forum but here it is again. If this does not get a response, then I will write to the address you gave. However, I have no confidence that I would get a response as I have tried every way that I can think of to get a response and it appears to me that the word "Complaint" triggers some kind of "No response" action.

My previous post.

If your complaint is about the flawed Driver Updater app, there are a number of posts in these forums where users had difficulties up to hosing their system. Norton is fully aware of the issues, and an employee has been posting in those threads. One example thread....https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-driver-updater-failed-upda...

Re: How to contact Norton with a compliant

My complaint is about Driver Updater, and I have seen that there are numerous users with the same problem and the same view about the way they have been treated. I know that a big corporation is probably not concerned about a "small" number of dissatisfied users however my points of complaint are.

No easy access to a place to make a complaint it seemed to me that the word complaint sent the user into a loop of silence.

There is good access to technical advice however there is no recognition of the real issues caused to users by a flawed App. This is a technical solution however users also need to have their concerns and the time that they lose chasing answered recognised. I lost access to audio for some days, and this was a real inconvenience not to mention the time spent online trying to get a resolution.

The online comments would suggest that Norton should withdraw the app until it is sorted, and it should not have been sent out when it was known to be flawed.  To me this just says that Norton have a high concern for technology and protecting their systems and a low concern for customer care. The longer this goes on the more I am being drawn towards looking for another supplier.

Re: How to contact Norton with a compliant

This is unacceptable. I am one of the many it seems who is experiencing poor performance with my paid for subscription. Although I have been a loyal customer for years, Norton is failing customers very badly. I cannot rely on anything it seems anymore. Utilities etc just disappear from my computer. How’s many times do I need to download their files? Do they really think I have time for that? My VPN that is supposed to start automatically is constantly switching itself off. And on and on it goes. I virtually have no security. What is the point? Or rather who are the alternatives? For your information Norton, if you give a damn, I am not going to be checking my expensive security is actually working every time I turn on a device. HUGE fail.
