Norton 360 idle scan is generally a good idea but there is no way currently to turn the idle scans off and all the excessive usage that the idle scans produce significantly reduces the power and life expectances of drives on laptops if the idle scan continually tries to restart. Please oh please an option to turn idle scan off completely.

Hi Qwelldrin. If you go to Settings ->Tasks Scheduling and then click on the Scheduling tab, you can change it from automatic to manual schedule. This will only run scans and run tuneup when you click on Run Scans or Run Tuneup.

Hi Mimi, Thanks for the info this has now stopped the idle scans but if I want to run a comprehensive manual scan now none of the cleanup or tune up options are available within that comprehensive scan I will also now have to run separately and independently the tune up options if running the comprehensive scan. If I do select the "Let Me Choose" scan these options are available here but the Virus scan seems to only do the most vulnerable areas and not an in depth scan that the "Comprehensive" scan does. Any other advise would be appreciated thanks.
