How to add folder to exceptions.

Hi.  I feel pretty foolish asking this, cause I'm sure there's a simple answer, but I cannot seem to find it in my searching.

I'm wondering how to add a folder to exclusions in Norton 360 version 6.  I can add individual files under the program exclusions configuration, but cannot seem to figure out how to add the entire folder rather than each individual file within that folder.  I'm trying to exclude a certain folder for some of my online games that updates frequently as I've been experiencing some framerate drops recently and read that this would help.  Please help.

Thanks,

Lester

Re: How to add folder to exceptions.

Hi Lester,

There are no foolish questions. :)

There are a couple of different exclusion types: firewall, AC scans, and SONAR/Auto-protect. You mention that the framerate drops for online games that update frequently, so I'm going to assume it's SONAR.

To add a folder to SONAR exclusions:

Open up the N360 interface.

Select the "Settings" tab.

Select "Antivirus" from the Detailed Settings field.

Under the "Scans and Risks" tab, scroll down to the bottom

Locate the "Exclusions / Low Risks" section

Next to "Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR...etc" click on "Configure [+]"

A window should pop up labeled "Real Time Exclusions"

Click "Add"  and browse for your games folder. Don't select a specific file, just select the entire game folder.
Be sure to check the box for "Include subfolders"

Click "OK"

Click "Apply"

You should be all set!
