Noticed hard drive just continued to run constantly for hours.

Installed anti-track.  System meets specifications.  Noticed hard drive just continued to run constantly for hours.  Went into task manager, CPU was like 10%, memory was 50-60% and disk (in the processes tab) was like 20%.   In the performance tab, drive was at 100% and barely budged.  Again this went on for many hours (4-5 hours).  Uninstalled and issue went away - the hard drive stops after awhile of no activity.  Re-installed and same thing - 100% no breaks.  Have done this 5-6 times, same result.   System became much slower.  Installed another anti-tracker and that brand works fine and hard drive behaves as usual.  No system issues, just with Norton.  Any ideas or is it just a system hog?

BTW, I should say there is a solution to this problem if you are using the chrome browser. Uninstall the Norton AntiTrack program and restart Chrome

Thank you for reporting the issue. We have version 1.1.0.489 released with few fixes. Could you please check if you are on latest build version. Right click on AntiTrack system tray icon and 'about' option should show you the build version.

If issue still persists, could you please help us or allow me to gather AntiTrack product logs for further check.

Re: Noticed hard drive just continued to run constantly for hours.

After I wrote the initial message I once again uninstalled anti-track.  A few weeks ago I reinstalled and it said it was an updated version (not 100% sure of the version number).  I think it was still running the hard drive all the time, but of greater concern was something else that was happening that was new to me.  I primarily use Chrome but on occasion use Edge and Firefox.  I was using Chrome and went into Edge and got a message saying Edge could not access the internet connection (Chrome was working fine).  Same message with Firefox but yet Chrome worked.  I re-booted - Edge then worked but Firefox and Chrome would not work.  E-mail client Thunderbird also stopped connecting.  I use Norton 360 but it would not open - wanted to reset the firewall rules.  I uninstalled anti-track, was able to reset the firewall rules and all was fine.  Reinstalled anti-track and the same thing happened.  I have had anti-track uninstalled for over a week and no firewall issues.    I could try it again but am not sure I want to.  My system is several years old but it should handle this.   As I write this, with chrome open, Norton 360 and some other apps open - my cpu usage is at 1 or 2% sometimes 5% (per task manager), memory is at 46% (out of 12GB) and disk usage is almost 0% with a few spikes here and there.  My system has slowed down over the past few years especially when asked to do many tasks at once, but it normally runs pretty well except for when anti-track is installed.  I now have Privacy Badger and Ghostery installed and have no issues.  Again anti-track is currently not installed.

Re: Noticed hard drive just continued to run constantly for hours.

I have the same issue. It took me a very long time to discover the solution. I called support line several times and they do not seem to know about this. Their only solution was to reboot the system which of course did not solve the problem. Only uninstalling the Antitrack product solves the problem. When the product runs, my PC is nearly useless. It slows to a crawl. I should point out that it is not the Norton AntiTrack process that is accessing the disk at 100%, it is the Norton Security process. However, the access stops when I uninstall Norton AntiTrack. I don't need to restart my PC after I remove the software, I only need to close Chrome.

I can reproduce the problem at will so it is definitely associated with antitrack. The only solution I have found is to uninstall Antitrack

that's what I did right away.  I have tried to install newer versions as they appeared only to be faced with the same issue.  Will not be using this again.
