Why are Norton and other vendors dumbing down? Sure, keep things easy and simple for those that have no need nor desire to dig, but at least have an advanced area, hidden deep away if necessary, for the rest of us!

To support a very niche functionality or to expand and support ideas for the majority of the public.... now that is the question.... While I agree that it would be great to have some functions back or added, this is also a business. People tend to make decisions based on numbers. If a certain function was so rarely used that it might be deemed useless, or only used by a handful of people, this really isn't an option. Just theorizing here.
