Confusion

@Mohan_G (or someone else from Norton)

Do you think it would be possible to delete the first 2 "sticky posts" and put ONE definitive post up regarding the real status of 22.12. This is getting confusing looking at all the posts regarding this update to find what its status is.  Thank you.

Re: Confusion

Hi PhxFlyer,

This may come close to what you are asking for and is how I track the latest status of updates by going to the following link:

https://community.norton.com/en/blogs/product-update-announcements/norton-2212-product-update-available-now

Norton 22.12 Product Update available now

[Update on 22-Jan-2018: The Norton 22.12 product update has been pulled back from the LiveUpdate server]

[Update on 22-Jan-2018: The Norton 22.12 product update has been posted back to the LiveUpdate server]

[Update on 19-Jan-2018: The Norton 22.12 product update has been pulled back from the LiveUpdate server]

Norton Security 22.12.0 is now available via LiveUpdate. As with our previous updates, this version is being released in a phased manner. This update is available in all supported languages. To download it, simply run LiveUpdate.

This lead-in copied from that link shows the sequential history of the update through releases and pullbacks.

Re: Confusion

Still confused. That post didn't help a bit. It's posted, it's pulled, it's posted. Just make one post with it's status. Cut out all the daily updates. Thank you.

Re: Confusion

PhxFlyer,

Appears to be two separate postings, both seem to be same apart from edit dates:-

https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-2212-product-update-available-now edited 24th 3:50 pm

https://community.norton.com/en/blogs/product-update-announcements/norton-2212-product-update-available-now

edited 23rd 11:34 am (times as UK ?) - released, pulled, released, pulled. Conclusion is that still pulled - hard work trying to work out what is going on. Be nice when there is an 'Edit', a note is included as to the amendment - that's the way I was taught so at least you can trace the history. I subscribe to product announcement emails, had the original release email but that was not available to view, had no further update emails regarding being pulled etc. although other announcements are coming through.

Re: Confusion

@mgirons

If I were you I would stop going around in search of replies/comments relating to the 2nd withdrawal of v.2212, and would instead keep an eye on https://community.norton.com/en/comment/7798841#comment-7798841 where Mohan_G last posted "We'll update this thread when the patch is reposted".

Re: Confusion

Rainbow, these are two links given by Mohan_G on his postings which I have followed. Both have the same 'Title' but have different edit dates on although appear the same, these are the links given by Mohan_G

Re: Confusion

As I said above, I would disregard any other link and just follow the link posted in my previous post.

Best regards.

Re: Confusion

Rainbow_2, OK - just confusing when 2 posts issued on same product announcement.

Re: Confusion

Thanks all for your inputs. I guess what I was trying to say is when you look at the topic of the first sticky note it shouldn't say 22.12 UPDATE AVAILABLE NOW. That is very misleading. You have to dig further to find out it's real status. The topic title should read 22.12 UPDATE HAS BEEN PULLED and in the post tell you the status of the update. When it's ready that's when the title should tell you it's ready. It may be a small point but would clarify the situation.
