Under /settings/about/software: Firmware Version: it has 180327_237
It says neither [Up to date] nor [Update Available].
iOS app 1.27
Those are the latest update to the firmware and the IOS app that I'm aware of. Firmware hasn't said Up to Date nor Update Available since very early in the release.
All: The latest posted info for the apps and firmware are located here:
Click subscribe to the thread and you will be automatically notified when an update has been officially posted. The app will never state "up to date" with the app version nor the firmware version. I'm hoping that will inclusive in a firmware release and soon.
Early this morning, I saw something download to Core from the Google Play Store.. I then looked at my Core and there was no sign that anything had updated. There was nothing new in the Alerts except it telling me I have a double router which I must have so I can have my telephone and TV service. I then looked in the About section and the App and Firmware showed no change either. I saw from the Play Store that it didn't look like it was not much of an Update. My point is if I didn't see it happening, I would never know it had happened. If I submit logs from my phone, I get no personal results about my logs. I don't know if they received them or what they showed.
Not every issue is posted in the Forum and not every Core does the same thing or has the same issues as what is in the Forum.
Have a Good Night and time for the Fire Works on TV. and
I just got a new Core Update. This is for Android App for the Core. It is now version 1.59.1. I have a feeling that the update that came out on Tuesday was not complete since that one had no change of version number. I noticed 1 thing that was different. There is now a icon next to the Security listing in the Table of Contents. I don't know yet if anything else changed that is visible. At least 1 Creature Feature, as Saul calls them, was completed. Thank you Core Team.
Have a Good Night and
All: The Core App for Android is now at version 1.60 and DOES support PPPoE, the iOS app remains the same. Neither app has ever had the statement "up to date" superimposed. Checking the links provided in my earlier post is the official notification we are up to date with the latest releases of both the apps and firmware. I might add the release notes for the past two Android app updates have NOT been posted. iOS app has not been updated for quite some time and should be ready for a new version release.
All: Core firmware has updated to version 260, release notes are here. The iOS app is available with a new version 1.64, Android is now version 1.60.1 The Core app has never and in its present form alerted the user that there is an app updated version or firmware version available. I do hope for the sake of simplicity these features are included in a future update.
The IOS app used to notify you when there was a firmware update. It has done on every firmware release until this one. It also in the beginnings used to have an update button if the firmware was out of date and hadn't automatically updated.
I should have said the Android app since I don't use the iOS version.
Soul: You don't get this notification. I actually did get it but didn't see it.
Indeed I do. But notifications DON'T alert before the update has taken place with the statement an update is available.
Yeah, they took that out of the original IOS app it had an update button available.
Tsalagi. Check your Core app for the following versions: Core firmware should be 180721_260 / iOS app is now 1.64. If you have those you are current.
Please check where ever your other IOS programs update from automatically. That location should also list the latest Firmware and the latest App. I know I can find that information in Google Play Store for my Android phone.
I made a slight error. The Firmware is not listed in Google play store. What happens sometimes is that the Firmware updates, but you don't get any notice of it. It has happened to me in the past. I had to send my logs from the Core router that is on my phone to Gayathri_R. You shake the phone and a little message box will open up. Enter in your Forum user name, Core serial number, a link to your thread and a brief description of the problem. Then you also send a PM to Gayathri with the same information in it and ask her to respond and tell you what firmware your phone actually has installed and if it is up to date. My firmware was up to date, but the phone didn't show the latest firmware at the time.
All: Core firmware is now at version 267, no release notes have been posted at the present time.
All: An official post about how Core update can be found here. Power cycling the Core is the only way to check to whether you are current and whether the Core is actually getting the latest firmware release when its available. if you want to check manually.
The solution for me was resetting Core to factory earlier today. When doing so I selected remove core from my account as well as the data associated with it. Then when onboarding selected to NOT restore the cloud data for the devices, names and people associated with my account. Core issues all cleared up, functions as new. Although this may only be the last resort for some I am offering it as a suggestion in lieu of the waiting game for a new firmware patch.
