Family Time Supervision not showing any app/time usage

My child has two devices: Pixel 4a and Samsung tab. Both are running Android. Both have Norton Family downloaded, and other functions like location tracking and search activity are working fine. I have set up per-day time limits and also blocked times (curfew). However, Family is not showing any time used at all on either device. It IS enforcing the curfews. But I have zero information on what apps he is using and for how long.

Thanks for reaching out to the Norton Family forum.

Could you check if the Norton Family app has App Usage Access permission on your child's device? Or you can go to the permissions screen on the Norton Family app and re-grant the permissions if any was revoked.

It has the Norton Family Accessibility Service installed and ON (this is Android 11). Interestingly, I just got the weekly report and it *does* show total daily time usage for the whole week. So it does seem to have access to app usage. But it doesn't show up in my Parent app. And it doesn't show per-app usage - weekly report only shows total across all apps.

Forgot to mention: my Parent app is on a Pixel 5, running Android 12 Beta 5. Unlikely, but could be Android 12 Beta issue.

Ahh. OK, I see the information on the web page. I usually do everything through the App, so consider this a feature request to add it into the App!

I also noticed that when my child asks for more time, there is no way for the app to generate a Notification. In fact I didn't even know the request was there. I had to go digging for it in the App. Should I submit this as a separate thread? Also, is there a specific place to request new features/improvements?

Any feature request/improvements can be submitted in forum itself. Notifications are already in place for time extension. We will analyse this specific issue. As a workaround, you can also login to family.norton.com to take action on the time extension requests.

OK, looks like Family has some limitations. I will probably go back to Google Family Link, since it does the app usage and notifications well, and those are the most critical baseline features.

Hi Edwin, why did Norton to decide to not showing app based usage anymore in the parent app? For me as a parent, this is one of the main reasons to buy Norton Family.

Can it be brought back?
