LiveUpdate - Product Process Updates failed

I've tried to run liveupdate today and received a failed notification. Clicking through to get more information I get a warning:

NGC Product Update

Status:Failed to complete

Update Criticality: Recommended.

I then click the link to see more information then get a pop-up telling me unable to open a browser.

I've rebooted the PC (not shutdown) and still no-go.

I've looked through a load of posts but can't find something that matches for a solution so could anyone please help?

Try reinstall it norton removel tools. Maybe that helps

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean.

Are you saying to remove and reinstall or there is a Norton 'tool' that may fix it?

I'm trying to avoid the nuclear option of remove/re-install as previous occasions have been the stuff of nightmares. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Before reinstalling, restart your computer and try LiveUpdate again. Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature..
